The purpose of the Company is to:
- Transport LNG for Angola LNG Limited using seven ships, each with a capacity of 160,000 cubic meters:
- Four ships built by Samsung (SHI) in Korea are chartered to ALSS on a long term basis from a joint venture comprised of Mitsui & Co., NYK Lines, and Teekay Shipping.
- Three ships built by Daewoo (DSME) in Korea are chartered to ALSS on a long term basis from Sonangol Shipping Holding Ltd. Chevron Shipping is the operator of these vessels on behalf of Sonangol Shipping.
- Buy LNG from Angola LNG Limited’s 5.2 MMT liquefaction plant in northern Angola.
- Deliver LNG to a 1.3 Bcf/d LNG Receiving Terminal in Pascagoula, Mississippi, owned by Gulf LNG Energy, LLC. Angola LNG Supply Services has contracted for over half of the regasification terminal capacity.
- Transport natural gas (the regasified LNG) from the regasification terminal via Gulf LNG Pipeline, LLC for about five miles to interconnect with pipelines owned by Florida Gas Transmission and Transco, where it is sold to our customers. Firm Transportation Capacity has been secured on Transco and FGT pipeline systems.
